B&A | Cranbrook Art Museum
New to B&A’s roster, Muralist Bakpak Durden made their first exhibition debut at the Cranbrook Art Museum in Detroit, Michigan. The exhibition “Eye of the Horus” displays the five-part installation, titled "Khēmia,” which explores the physiological and psychological functions relating to the way vision and the mind are influenced by the body’s response to external stimuli. The exhibition showcases a two-paneled still life painting titled "Double Crown of The Distant One,” a sculpture displaying twenty-two paintings, a free-standing painting titled "Ascend (Descend) toward Projection in Depression,” and the painting "Dark Night (Stimuli Ferre).” This exhibition was not only a testament to Bakpak’s prowess as a fine artist, but also to their capability to create large-scale, complex artwork.
